As many as 21 kinds of exploitable minerals have been verified.Among other things,Pingyi has large reserves of granite,gypsum,limestone and gold.The granite reserve amounts to 2.2 billion cubic mete-rs.Pingyi has therefore been named "Home to Granite of China" by the state.The gypsum reserve stands at 2.7 billion tons,limestone reserve more than 6 billion tons and gold reserve 39 tons.Pingyi is also rich in barite,quartz,marble,asbestos,coal,copper,silver,iron,to list a few. |
